Harry’s Coffee Post

“C-o-f-f-e-e coffee is not for me”
So begins a song that I sang numerous times in my choir as a child. The song, perhaps not surprisingly, rejects the very idea of drinking coffee, and helped shape my thinking about the drink. Well, that song and the hotel coffee I tried. And Starbucks. I still don’t understand why people drink that stuff. So it is interesting how much coffee I’ve had in the past couple of days. It seems like it is a completely different drink from the one I tried back in the states. The main difference seems to be this: in Paris, the taste is very important, because it is a relaxation drink, whereas in the US, it is more the ogodwhydoihavetowakeupnow drink. Or so it seems to me.
